Get the Outdoor Camping Supplies You Need for Your Next Camping Trip

One of the greatest things about camping is that you can make the experience whatever you want it to be. If you'd like to camp on a nice, level, pre-plotted site with shower facilities and a snack bar nearby, no problem. If you want to be in the middle of the wilderness with no other people around for miles, you can do that, too. And for everyone who wants something somewhere in between, there are plenty of ways to enjoy camping.

However you choose to camp, it's inevitable that you will need some outdoor camping supplies. For some campers, shopping for outdoor camping supplies and deciding what to take along is half the fun of camping!

What to Take

At the very least, you'll need your outdoor camping supplies to include a tent to sleep in. Tents can be found in many sizes and configurations, so whether you need a low-profile single-person tent or a huge three-room family tent, your outdoor camping supplies store will be able to get you what you need.

The other basic outdoor camping supplies are things like sleeping bags, flashlights, backpacks, and coolers. Although it's possible to camp without these things, your camping trip will be greatly improved if you take them. Imagine stumbling your way to the toilet site in the dark with no flashlight! For many campers, these items are just as essential as a tent.

Many campers also opt to take portable cooking supplies with them. The need for this type of outdoor camping supplies will vary depending on where you are camping, but generally you'll want to have a portable stove and some utensils and dishes for eating. Camping stoves can be found in several different varieties with several different fuel sources. An alternative to using a portable stove, of course, is to cook the old-fashioned way: over an open fire. You'll need a sturdy pot or pan that won't warp with the intense heat if you intend to cook this way.

Some other popular outdoor camping supplies are tools for clearing a plot or cutting firewood. Normally, a small hand axe and bow saw are sufficient for wood gathering, and a machete clears tall grasses nicely. These outdoor camping supplies are most often used by the more serious campers who prefer to clear their own path and tend to stay away from pre-designed campsites.

However you prefer to camp, having the right outdoor camping supplies can make all the difference between having a great camping trip and just sleeping outdoors.
