With the first ever case of mechanical doping present at the 2016 UCI Cyclocross World Championships in January, the UCI has been increasing their efforts to detect hidden electric motors in the peloton.

Although critics have speculated their use in the pro ranks for years, how feasible are these tiny motors really? How much of a boost do they provide? The boys at the Global Cycling Network took a closer look, and here is what they found.
