2016/7/25 11:40:57

The Megavalanche is a popular, adventurous decline usually on a mountain that vast amounts of bikers love to compete in to test their physical stamina. Visitors and competitors from all around the globe are venturing to Megavalanches all over to take the ultimate test of mountain biking. The increase in popularity is because of the press becoming interested in the events and more people becoming aware.

The race begins at a height of around 3000 metres depending on each location; the length that each cyclist covers can be up to 50 kilometres. Upon arrivals racers will check into their hotel, become accustomed with the facilities and enjoy exploring the surroundings. Each hotel will usually include meals in the package and provide the evening function in a room together so that the competitors can meet each other before, during and after the event.

Many bikers will travel in groups of teams and clubs, although people do still go as individuals but they will meet many bikers at their place of accommodation and become friendly over dinner and breakfast. Cyclists will also speak to one another on social networking sites to get more information and to have people they are familiar with to meet up with they arrive.

The first part of the event is the practice, where riders who have paid for the occasion can use the lifts to get to the top of the track and experience what the big day will be like at their own leisurely pace.

Following a few practice runs it will be time for the qualifying course which is generally held the day before the real race or on the day itself. The course is shorter than the real one but is probably more intense; participants times are recorded to determine the fitness of each individual which decides where they will race in the true round.

Once this aspect of the race has been completed, each individual will be given the letter of a category to which they will be long depending on their skill in the qualifying round. Those with the fastest times will be in the top group which is A, they will be given the opportunity to race first, like an elite group of a marathon. Other racers must wait until they have completed the course before they can begin to race for their chip times.

The hotel employees are happy to assist their clients and will ensure their registration has been completed properly. Instructors in the area may also be assigned to individuals or groups to ensure each person is aware of the quickest and safest route to the finish line.
