Choosing a bicycle predominantly made from carbon fiber should come from knowing the advantages and limitations it provides. With today's available bikes from different materials and sizes, any new cycling enthusiast should first consider the terrain its going to be used in, and who's going to use it. If you're new to the sport, then it's in your best interest to learn all you need to know about the nature of today's modern bicycles - especially carbon bikes.

Bikes were always popular and will stay as thus as an energy efficient mode of transportation for work, recreation, as a competitive sport, or for going places. Always an item with the kids and the kids at heart, all biking enthusiast and lovers always aspire to have the best and newest models that come out. As we all grew up, our ongoing relationship with the bike never faltered but just changed perspective. Good thing, and thank God, for those in the bicycle-making business to always come up with all manner of designs to satisfy our thirst for better designed and beautifully crafted bikes for us to ride on.

Today, bikes of various brands comes constructed from materials ranging from aluminum, steel, carbon fiber, titanium, and a mixture of one or two of such materials, and with different measurements to fit a persons height. The type of material and size of the bike you should be choosing should be one that fits the kind of riding surface you'll be generally on, and your build or frame size. Road bikes come in different materials to suit its main surface use, so is its frame size to accommodate the users' build.

The price range of carbon-made bikes is much higher compared to bikes made from steel or aluminum, with prices ranging in the thousands or so. This is so because of the technical aspects of producing carbon fiber frames from interwoven strands of carbon fiber nanotubes. This makes for an extremely strong and lightweight base that is resistant to rust, and provides a softer or stiffer riding experience for road cycling and other additional users' preference. The only disadvantage, besides its high price, is the fact that it isn't durable enough to withstand severe impacts of off road cycling. What force would normally dent steel or bend aluminum would easily break apart a carbon tube.

These factors are vital to establishing beforehand in order to avoid unforeseen events from happening, and to have the best biking experience ever. If you only need to stay on the road and not on the rough terrain of hills and mountains, then the carbon bike is what you want to have.
