How To Assemble BMX Bike Seat Clamp

2016/7/25 16:07:01

Knowing how to assemble a BMX bike seat clamp is important. The BMX bike is one of the most common bicycles for young men. The design of the seat hasn’t changed in over 30 years but the number of riders has. These bicycles are very common in competitions and girls are riding more and competing more as the sport is enjoying a peak right now as an extreme sport. The BMX bike seat clamp is critical for keeping your young rider on the bike safely.

You will need:

  • Wrenches
  1. Adjust the seat to the appropriate height for your rider. You can do this by having the rider stand up and hold the bicycle upright. You can then find the right height by pulling the seat up under the rider’s body. Note the height during this process.
  2. Tighten the support bolt for the seat height with an adjustable wrench. This is normally a very large nut on most models. Gripping pliers or an adjustable crescent wrench will work best. The seat height should be perfect for the rider at this point.
  3. Tighten the seat clamp cross bolt nuts with a wrench or pliers. This will stop the seat from pivoting left or right. Make sure you don’t strip the nuts. The task is complete.

The BMX bike seat clamp is a crucial part. This is because BMX bikes are for cross-country, and mountain recreation. The rider will come down on the seat hard at times and you want the rider to be safe. Make sure the bolts are tightened well without stripping and send your rider on his way!
