Everglades Bass Fishing Secrets

2016/7/16 16:41:42

If you have ever fished for bass in the Everglades, you know that it is a bass angler's dream, and there is simply nothing else in the world like it. If you are lucky enough to get to visit Florida's Everglades, you will find one of the most spectacular natural formations in the United States of America. The Florida Everglades provide a great family adventure and learning experience both on and off the water, with plenty to learn and plenty to do to satisfy everyone in your group whether they are avid fishermen or not!

Now, if you are not well experienced in Everglades fishing, this is one destination in which you will definitely benefit from the expertise of an expert guide who knows the area well and can guide you where you want to go. There are over a million miles of nature rich terrain and a couple of thousand miles of canals in the Everglades.

Essentially, you should be aware that there are gators in them thar woods, and caution should be exercised. Good guides will not only lend you their expertise, they will provide you with tools you will need to catch the big bass. Guides also are well aware of areas of danger where snakes, (poisonous varieties such as copperheads and others) alligators, and other dangerous species of wildlife can be found, and they can help keep you safe. Additionally, if you are using a guide to fish in the Everglades, you don't have to have a Florida state fishing license. The guide's license will cover whomever he is escorting.

Now, in spite of all the cautions, the everglades are one of the most bass rich areas in the United States. Not only can you catch large largemouth bass in the Everglades, you can catch bluegill, specs, and peacock bass there too. The parks do strongly advocate catch and release, and nobody should take more than their fair share, but you certainly can go home with a nice catch anytime you go fishing in the everglades.

The best times to fish on the everglades are dawn and dusk. The weather just gets too hot most of the year there, and you will be much more comfortable as well as being able to catch fish more productively at these times. Be sure to take sunscreen and adequate sunglasses as well as items such as billed caps and plenty of fresh drinking water when you go fishing in the Everglades.

The highest recorded bass weight in the United States came from the Everglades. There are also some of the best amenities available anywhere in the Everglades, including fishing camps such as Roland Martin's Marina, for anglers of all skills levels. If you join one of the Everglades' fishing camps, you will be able to get help catching trophy and sport fish, as well as fly fishing and game fishing instruction, including boat rides.

Just remember that the fish in the Everglades tend to be strong and aggressive, and you will need gear that can stand up to the fight you will be in for when you hook a lunker in the Everglades. Guide services can provide equipment as well as the other services they provide, but be sure to ask ahead of time, so you will know if you need to bring your own gear.
