I have heard anglers share several home remedies and gimmicks about removing the odor of fish and bait from hands, tackle, coolers, and live wells. Many of these remedies only mask the smell until the next warm day only to make the scent worse than before. I recently was introduced to a new product that solves the problem of the smell. Finally, dry it with a dry cloth.
With a mild solution of Thee Fisherman?s Soap and warm water and a soft cloth, clean lures and spinnerbait blades. This is a good time to inspect your lures and make sure the hooks are sharp enough for the upcoming catch. If they are not sharp, use a hook file to sharpen them. Check over your lures to make sure they are not torn, damaged, or otherwise compromised. Reorganize your tackle box for use.

While checking your reels, don?t tear them down unless they?ve been neglected for some time.
