TASK 7: Travel and Fishing - Exotic Species

I don?t travel much for fishing, hopefully this will start to change soon.  I have made most of the big purchase fish equipment, all except a boat from the procedes of my fishing t-shirt site. http://www.cafepress.com/comtfishing  I hope to put the money I earn from the site this coming year towards fishing trips but with gas prices going up so fast it might be used for gas.  At a dollar profit per shirt it takes a while to get funded. 

Let me explain what I mean by I don?t travel much, I do drive across most of the Rocky Mountains to fish but I consider travel more exotic then that.  Usually outside the United States or maybe a trip to Florida, Alaska, or Hawaii travel mainly anytime I would be going for exotic species, stuff I cannot catch here in Colorado? trips to other states to catch those species I don?t consider travel.  If that makes sense, lol.

With those standards I have official travel fished once.  Puerta Vallarta, Mexico which was a great destination for a vacation.  From what I heard the fishing here could be amazing, so I set up a one day charter while the wife lounged around the resort.  The fishing was very slow on the day we went out, but that?s fishing.  The water was a little rough as well, making me kind of sea sick.  The slowness and sickness was broken up with a few fish, the dolphins alongside the boat, and the manta rays flying through the water.  While we didn?t get any big trophies I was able to add two new species to my list, a bonita and a skipjack.  The deckhand made some amazing fresh fish tostadas out of one for everyone on the boat.  Travel fishing is about the experience, this trip was filled with that both in the boat and out.  I encourage everyone to try to fish for new species and new places all the time, and remember it?s not just the fish we are after.
