Golf Swing Improvement Tips

2016/7/20 15:49:32

Working to achieve that perfect golf swing is the elusive holy grail for millions of amateur and possibly hack golfers. The same is true for professional players because they're constantly working on their swings, form, putting, driving, and on and on. A weekend golfer can go broke buying everything that is available to try to improve their game such as that cantankerous golf swing. Power matters, but it's more about what can be done with that power that really is the most important consideration. There are things you can do to improve your accuracy as well. In this article we will talk about three things you can do to improve your golf swing. Never allow yourself to swing any club very quickly. Right, that is a classic new golfer mistake that is seen all the time. As you reach the summit of your swing - the top, then just pause a trifle. Just a short little pause will do, thank you; not overly-dramatic in any way. Your swings will always have a rhythm to them, so you don't want to pause so long that you break it - the pause is part of the rhythm. There is a transition period in your swing when you pass from swinging back to forward, so if there is no pause then you'll lose all control over the swing. Keep your weight on the inside of your right foot. That is something you need to keep in mind especially when you're first learning how to play. So what you'll do is sort of 'rest' on the right knee, so you'll have a better chance of generating more natural power. Remember, your weight goes on your right knee, so you can have a smooth and consistent swing, plus power. As you can imagine, it's really important to have the ability to be steady. Your right leg needs to be like a tree trunk, but not rigid of course. For an effective backswing your right hand should be in the hitchhiker positoin. That is to say when your hands are at waist height you should see your thumb pointed toward the stars if you are in the right position. Your left hand however should be in a handshake position. Forward and palm to the right. This will help you improve your golf swing from the backswing all the way through your follow through. Improving golf swings is, at heart, a matter of simply practicing a few key stances and body postures. Believe it or not these stances and posture tips help make sure you are getting the maximum effect on the ball when your club come into contact with it. Your ball will fly farther and your accuracy will be better. You may have heard many people complain about improving their golf swing being too difficult. This however is a misconception it really only takes alot of practice. Don't give up, you will soon see your swing improving significantly.
