How Lee's changes win a fortune!

With a subtle change in his equipment, Lee Westwood has become a real contender for the majors in 2010 and his win at the Dubai World Championship, which moved him up to No. 4 in the world rankings, proves that he has the fitness and consistency to claim one of those four elusive titles.

Taylormade Japan's all new Taylormade R7 XR forged irons. A size cavity back made for all levels of players. The R7 XR Forged features to high launch with a medium topline and sole and moderate offset. The R7 XR Forged uses a deep undercut cavity, the Oval shaped ICT Inverted Cone Technology.

The longer irons, up to #7 feature a 410ss face for extra distance and trajectory while the shorter irons, 8-PW feature S25C Carbon steel for feel and playability. The ICT makes the iron very forgiving on mis-hits and along with four tungsten weights embedded iun the heel and toe back of the iron for extra low CG and increased MOI.

Following his win in the Portugal Masters in October, Westwood put a new Ping i15 3-wood in his bag in Hong Kong and a 9-degree lower-lofted Ping G10 driver (preferred to the 10-degree). Together with his Ping i10 irons the clubs enabled him to hit all 14 fairways and 18 greens in regulation in Sunday's final round on his way to a record-breaking 64 and six-shot winning margin at 23-under par.

"It's hard to imagine playing the Callaway Hyper X Driver  better and getting the breaks when I needed them, " he said. " I just didn't think I'd feel so calm out there," In four rounds at the Greg Norman-designed Earth course and Jumeirah Beach Resort, Westwood missed just six greens and eight fairways. He played the par-4 holes in 13-under par and had 27 single-putt greens using the Ping Redwood Anser putter.

Victory in the Race to Dubai (Tour order of merit) earned him €3,240,951 from 26 European Tour events as well as the $1.5million bonus awarded for finishing top at the weekend. He's the eighth Englishman to have won the Harry Vardon Trophy on two or more occasions.
