Work On Getting In Shape To Be At Your Golfing Best

Being able to play at your peak out on the golf course for an entire 18 holes is going to give you a fantastic advantage over many of your fellow golfers, you won't suffer from the same level of fatigue and subsequent drop in your game, meaning you can carry your form into even the latest holes on the course. If you're not in a position to say that you feel good after a round of golf then you should consider taking the time to work on your golfing fitness to make some improvements in that area.

Just the tiniest improvement in your fitness could make a big difference in how well you can swing the golf club, how consistently you are able to hit the golf ball and how powerful your swing is. The problem is that not a lot of golfers are that committed to a proper golf exercise program in order to see these benefits, but it doesn't have to be all about working hard, there are a few things you can do to see improvements that won't take too much effort at all.

Let's take a look at how you could build some extra strength. Of course if you were so inclined you could sign up to the gym and spend plenty of time and energy building up your strength in order to go out there and absolutely crush it, but that's not really a required option. After all if you are looking to build some additional strength in your swing then why not concentrate on exercises that relate to this act of swinging the club, an ideal example would be using a couple of weights in each hand and rotating as if you were swinging a club. This doesn't need to take much time each day, but the benefits will be noticeable.

Another target area that people should be focusing on is their overall flexibility and there is a large range of stretches that you can undertake which will help the movement you make during your swing. Interestingly one of the areas that can benefit you a lot but is ignored by most is the basic warmup, just take a few practice swings with a weighted club (or a couple of clubs together) and you will feel your joints and muscles beginning to loosen. If you can do this on a regular basis you will find your golf specific muscles remain loose for extended periods, ready to go.

Lastly we can look at the idea of upping your endurance levels, and one of the best things you can do in respect to building good golf endurance is walking. After all in between all those repeated golf swings most golfers are likely to be walking from hole to hole and the longer you are able to walk without feeling tired then the lower the impact all that walking is going to have on your swing during the course of a round.

So there you have it, a few easy to do exercises that can help you to build some additional golf specific fitness, and let's be honest they are not exactly hard work are they? Just a little time working on different parts of your body each can make a difference and of course, if you want to invest a little more time and effort into a golf exercise program you will only see larger benefits in the long run.
