There are many levels of soccer all around the world. Commonly, there are three levels of soccer – recreational, travel and soccer.

Recreational soccer

Recreational soccer is mostly an enjoyment and development level for soccer players. Here, the players are less experienced or beginners. There is not much competition involved and the matches are between community friends. A soccer player gets an opportunity to have fun and learn the sport. Teams are assigned randomly and not based on the soccer players' skills. Also, there is no travel involved.

Travel Soccer

Travel soccer is more competitive. Level of commitment and dedication is high during travel soccer. Soccer players who have the passion and the skill for the game can shift to the travel program. Here their skills are honed and improved in a constant basis.  Soccer players can get into their local travel squad by tryouts. Players are chosen only on the basis of skill and commitment level. They are likely to face teams from different towns and communities and so there is a lot of travelling involved. Players need to attend practice sessions regularly and so commitment is absolute. The fee for travel soccer is higher than recreational soccer.

Premier Soccer

This is the highest level of soccer. Here the competition is on a grand stage. Players face teams from different cities and states. They play against regional and national clubs. Teams draw players based on tryouts. Soccer players with high level skills can get selected to teams from other states as well. Children aged 12 and above alone can participate in premier soccer. The fees for this level of soccer can easily come up to $100 to $1000. You need the finest equipment and apparels. Dedication and commitment is paramount.
