Scuba diving is a very enthralling experience. It has become a very popular recreational activity which is being pursued by a number of people nowadays. However, it is essential that one has the right accessories to go for a scuba-diving session. Scuba diving gear and accessories are varied and hence, it is essential for a person to select the most important accessories he needs, keeping in mind the cost factor. The following description of the various equipments required may throw some light on how and what to buy for scuba diving:-

Firstly, the most essential of the diving gear is the 'scuba tank' or the 'oxygen tanks' and masks. Various other stuff like the 'breathing tube' and 'mouth-piece' used are the 'regulators'. They keep a check on the amount of oxygen that is being used up by a person from the oxygen tanks. The 'scuba mask' is also a very important piece of equipment required for diving. It is important to buy a mask according to the person's choice and suitability. It has to fit his proportions.

The second thing to keep in mind is about the BCD or buoyancy-control device which helps a diver to stay afloat in the water at the right level. Also required are 'weight belts' which help the diver to stay in the water.

Another important thing to keep in mind is body protection. It is very essential for a scuba diver to wear the right kind of body suit in order to protect him or her from the cold and salty water.A'wet suit' helps in protecting against various marine predators while a dry suit helps against cold. A suit covers the entire length of your body and is specially made for rigorous conditions. Also, one can go for a shorter suit especially suited for warm places. Also important are the 'scuba fins' which aid in movement underwater and are a part of the body suit.

One should also include safety equipments for emergency conditions. They may include 'first aid', an inflatable raft; extra oxygen tank etc., .A number of other things can be included like nets, video equipment, penknife etc.
It is however advisable to take along stuff like a 'sunscreen lotion’, cap gloves etc., which may aid in diving or for relaxing. Professional divers adhere to the fact that it’s a very wonderful experience and an adventure that should be definitely embarked upon.
