Japanese Pole

Super Best Carbon Pole Hi Marc, I am from the UK but am currently living with my wife in Thailand. I bought my wife a Japanese fishing pole yesterday. It is different from those in the UK as it doesn't have an eye at the end just a 4" flexible red 'tail piece'. I am unsure of the best way to attach line to this, is there an additional bit of kit I need for this or do I just tie it on to the 'tail' direct?

Hi Chris,

Honestly, I have never seen anything like that. But, I think you are correct. I think they intend for you to attach a length of monofilament to that via a nail knot. It would be exactly like you attach a leader to a fly line.
