Tying Fluorocarbon Line

Question
I have yet to successfully tie a knot in fluorocarbon line, which pulls out when the fish-fighting pressure is on. Perhaps the problem is "just the guy who is tying the knot." I would like to know...does anyone else have this problem with fluorocarbon line or is it just me? In either
case, can you recommend a specific knot or way of tying a knot which will make my fluorocarbon-unraveling problem go away?

Answer
Keith; I have not used florocarbon line a lot but from what I have heard from others the polymer knot is one that can be used without slipping.

To tie the knot double about four or five inches of the tag end of the line and push the doubled end through the eye of the hook or other fastner.  Using the double line tie an overhand knot in the line.  This should be all doubled line. Next pass the hook through the loop of doubled line.  Then pull tight using both parts of the doubled line.  Make sure the loop does not hang on the hook eye or someplace else (lure etc)  Pull both the end and the line until the knot is tight then cut off the short end.

This knot is easy to tie once you practice a little and it is supposedly the strongest knot in breaking strength.

If you do have problems with this knot slipping try going to http//www.fishing.about.com and go to the forum and ask the members to help you.

Thaks for asking me to answer your question.  If I can be of further help contact me on AllExperts.
