mike... iasked joe douglas a similar question but i found more info about my hardy rod.  rod: Hardy fly rod.#5 The Phantom Hollokona 1956  Serial # H54416  Cherry  Handle still in original wrapper..  original sleeve and tube for storage  single tipped    .. Value to a collector and do you know of anyone who might be interested.   John

That is a very nice rod - one of the few Hardy rods that really appeals to American fly fishermen.

I don't know of anyone in particular who is a Hardy rod collector. Two places that come to mind that might help you sell the rod are eBay and The Classic Flyrod Forum.( http://clarksclassicflyrodforum.yuku.com/directory )

The Forum is free - you just have to register to post in the classified sales area. Before you do that, however, I would recommend that you post a good description of the rod in the section of the forum that is designated for "Rod identification and appraisals". There are folks there who know much more about the value of Hardy rods than I do.

eBay would be a great place to sell the rod as you will have great exposure to collectors worldwide. I sell a lot of rods there myself.

Please do check out the Flyrod Forum - it's a good place to learn a lot about bamboo rods.
