which intermediate fly line would be better for surf fishing a line with a sink rate of 1 to 1 1/2 ips  or a line with 7 ips

Thanks for asking Gershon.

For me line choice is a matter of where and when you fish.

I would use a faster sinking line when fishing deeper water and windy conditions.

On the flats, I use intermediate line.

I carry an extra spools spooled with intermediate,sinking and floating lines, more often than not when fishing the surf, I use a sinking line for distance and being able to get down to where the fish are without the line getting pushed back by current, wind and wave wash. I know some guys that fish with intermediate lines and have good success with it too, best advise I could give you is to try both and see which you like best. For me, I like sinking lines in the surf more.
