Question
How come ,do you think, that the fish know when to be hungry on week days and not on weekends?
I fish at Port O'conner Tx jetties for 35 years and Iv noticed that on the average the fish bite
more on week days than weekends (5 to 2 ratio of
course).
Iv fished through the week and caught some or more , then Sat & Sun Zip , nota ,nothing. And Im a diver and gone down and watched sheeps head and gafftop swim around live shirimp.
High and low tides and smooth and rough water.
My dad is a charter captin there and He and the other charters all ways say (you should have been here yesterday) and its usally right. What do you think?
     Tides ,color ,temp , salinaty?
         Or just not hungry.
Anyways see ya in the deep water!

Answer
Hi Weldon:
I agree!  But I believe the answer is just a matter of simple math.  In general, there are more people fishing on the weekend for the same number of fish.  Thus the propotion of fish caught by each angler is less.  Add to that the extra boat traffic and beach crowds on the weekends, and there is even more reason for fish to put off feeding until things quiet down after the weekend is over.  Sort of like how "fish bit better in the rain".  Again, how many people fish in the rain as opposed to a good weather day?  Less fishermen, same number of fish, you do the math.
