Mens Bike Seat

2016/7/16 9:30:49

Question
I like to bike, and I would like to bike a whole lot more but I find the seat really uncomfortable. Leaning way forward into a good biking position puts too much pressure into my groin. Is there any bike seat that is more comfortable and better designed for a mans anotomy?

Answer
Bike seats have changed greatly in the last few years. Many seats now have a cut out area in the nose to help relieve the pressure you are expierencing. Also padding, especially with gel compounds has helped.

Check out the major mail order places like nashbar.com and performancecycle.com. Both carry a large selection of saddles and you can see the offerings.

If these innovations don't help, there are a couple of manufacturers that make a noseless saddle. Basically, they are two padded cups mounted on swivels that cradle the buttocks. I have rarely seen them on any rides though. They seem more geared towards occasional cyclists that haven't broken in their bodies.

Hope this helps,
