Campagnolo Group

2016/7/16 9:30:50

Question
Hello Michel,
I am planing to buy the Campagnolo Chorus groupset. I am wandering which components are worth to swap for the Record Group. I want to keep the price down, but if any parts are worth to be from the Record group I might as well buy the right mix now!
What is you opinion on that???
Thanks and regards,
Claude

Answer
Hello Claude,

None,it is just easy. Chorus is for the pro riders just good enough, only they want more. Chorus has this year a carbon crankset, exactly the same as Record, same rear derailleur. The most new items which are coming in the lower groups came from the Record gruppo's. You can better spend your money in good lightweigth wheels, depending on where you ride, mountain, rough criteriumrace's, hard use's.
There is told me that the Neuron carbon come also in clincher instead only tubular.
Or go for Ritchey wheel, or better Reynold's Stratus.
These were the famous wheels of Lew a copple of year's ago.
Very strong carbon rim, with my weight, 240 pounds sitting on only a rim, it was a bet. When it should break i should get a full set of wheels. Never the less i lost.

I should go for a Chorus group, which is better than Record, cheaper a also better as ShimaNO Dura Ace.
Also, that is my opinion.

kind regards,

Look also at www.campyonly.com for reviews for gruppo's, wheels and so on.
