Racetrack Music

Question
What is the name of the   trumpet music played just before a horserace?

Answer
Scott -

I've always heard it referred to as "The Call to the Post." I'm sure it's based on some sort of traditional thing, maybe going back to the days when they'd have a bugler blast out a few notes to let local horse owners know that a steeplechase was planned for the day.

I hope that helps.
