hood without blinker cups and ear nets

Question

hood without blinker c   hello sir, may i know the use of the hood put on this horse, it neighter has blinker cups nor ear nets, why the trainer might had added this equipment?

Answer
The only guess I have is that the trainer either wants to block dirt hitting the horse in the head as much as possible or maybe so he can better see the horse in the race. I really have no idea why he has done this as I have not seen this before in American racing. If someone else knows please follow up and add to this answer.
