Question
I've been teaching beganners and artistic skating for a few years now but never been certified. Can you tell me how I can become a certified coach with-out going into competition, just for teaching?

Thanks
Tony Johnson

Answer
Hi Tony,
You can certainly become certified without going into competition or having students that compete.  Here is the web site that will explain the certification benefits to you.   There is a $50 fee for being certified for one discipline and you will have to take a written, open book test.

You do have a choice of being certified or registered.  Registered is fine if you don't plan on having anyone skate competition.  Certified allows you to be on the floor to coach your students at all meets.

    The web site is.......

     http://www.usacrs.com/coaches/benefits.htm

Read through this page of the benefits, then click on all the other links to read more.  Last, click on the "Home" link and then look for "contact USARS"   Email them and tell them what you want and give them your address etc.

If you have any trouble or need anything else, just let me know.  I'll be more than happy to help get you started.

Take care and good luck
Pat
