pin attachment for the mastfoot

Question
Hello,
I have an old Bic Salsa board that was given to me.  I was out sailing.  When I finished I tried to pull the pin (two prongs) out of the mast track that holds the mastbase to the board.  I did get the pin out but now it will not stay in the mast track on it's own, when I do not have a sail on.  Did I loose something when I pulled the pin sytem out?
Thanks

Answer
Hey Pat,

If I remember that board correctly, there really wasn't anything that kept those pins in other than a little tension or when the mast base was in, it created tension on the pins. I think you could maybe squeeze the pins together just a little so that there will be tension on the holes that the pins are in. Another thought is to tie a piece of rope on the pin and then tie the rope to your mast base when you are not sailing. You really don't want to lose the pins as they are almost irreplaceable.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
