Which board??

Question
Hey Brian,
Thanks in advance for your help, i really appreciate it.
Even though I've lived in San Diego almost my entire life, I'm just now looking for a board and dedicating some time to learn to surf.
My question is would a long board be a good learning board or should i start with an "egg"?
Thanks again-  Daniel

Answer
Daniel:
It depends on how big of a person you are, but the bigger the board, the easier it is to learn. In general, i would recommend something around 8', and an egg or nose riding shape. If however, as you talk to people, you find a "fun shape" that can really float you, that would be the way to go. It might be a little harder at first, but "fun shapes" are very versatile boards.
good luck.
