Swimming practice

Question
Hi, I am a sophomore in college and swam competitively throughout elementary and high school; however, my school does not have a pool so I cannot swim. I recently joined a swim club and wanted to have a practice line up so I can get back into shape.  Do you have any fun ideas as to what I can do for about an hour in the pool? i.e. 5x200 free etc. Thank you!

Answer
Lauren--
If you joined a swim club you should be able to get some good ideas.  Try doing IMs in different distances(50yd), or doing 75 yd IMs(rotate through the strokes per 25).  Mix up kicking, pulling and swimming.
Start out with distances you can do without long rest, but don't kill your self(5X100,10X50).  Do 35 yd swims of each stroke(start at the flags, swim into the wall, do a turn, swim a 25, do a turn and swim/streamline past the flags)mix up the strokes and do mini-IMs.
With swimming experience in the past try mixing up some of the stuff you did while you were competing.
Hope this helps,
George
