What happened to Stone Cold Steve Austin? Did he quit? Or just taking a break?

Hi Chris!

Steve Austin left because he couldn't agree contract details with the WWE. A return to the WWE seems inevitable but he might go to NWA-TNA or Japan for a short while(both are certainly interested in him).
