Pool Builders Need To Meet Demands Of Savvy Customers

2016/7/21 15:21:53

The last several years of economic downtown has resulted in an empowered group of consumers who have the ability to get a great deal on whatever they buy. Swimming pools are no exception. Pool builders will tell you that consumers are more educated and informed than ever before and this is apparent from the first time they meet. Gone are the days when a buyer had a basic sketch of a freeform pool with a rock waterfall as the only criteria that pool builders had to meet.

Now, with the help of the internet, people are searching out options that will not only look aesthetically pleasing on their swimming pool, but will also save them money. To address this need, as well as the increased interest to protect the environment, pool builders are marketing green pool equipment and products. Until recently, many pool builders installed single speed pumps that run the same no matter how much or how little water needs to be circulated and filtered. The main reason is that a single speed pump is less expensive than a variable speed pump and they were trying to keep costs down to be the lowest bidder.

The largest swimming pool company in the country, Premier Pools & Spas, educates their prospective customers about all aspects of building sound and energy efficient swimming pools and spas. With 25 years in the pool business, they have determined that Jandy (also known as Zodiac) swimming pool equipment, especially their variable speed pumps and heaters, were the best products to put on their pools and spas. A variable speed pump lets you choose the right speed to run whatever functions you wish, without wasting energy.

Jandy’s ePump has eight speeds and its high efficient motor not only saves a lot on energy costs, but is one of the quietest and coolest pumps available. Tests have shown that the Jandy ePump uses up to 90% less energy than a single speed pump. That can amount to annual savings of up to $1,300 a year!

Many pool builders shy away from suggesting getting a pool heater to their customers unless there is a spa involved because it can be costly to install and run. Premier Pools offers Jandy’s Hi-E2 Heaters, which are the most efficient pool heaters available. With an efficiency rate of 95%, it reduces operating costs by 30% or more. It also has dual thermostat controls that allow you to set the pool and spa on different temperatures.

Premier Pools further suggests salt sanitizing and mineral systems to their Eco-conscience buyers. These systems, such as the Nature2 Fusion Soft, destroy bacteria and control algae without the harsh effects of chemicals that are typically used. An additional benefit is that this sanitizing system leaves your hair and skin feeling soft.

Another way that pool builders help their customers save money and energy is by installing LED pool lights, rather than regular lights. Premier Pools led the pack by offering their customers their own state-of-the art Eco Radiance lights. These lights are low voltage, high brightness energy efficient LED lights that are 95% more efficient and last 30% longer than traditional pool lights. They have seven vibrant colors and two amazing light shows to create any mood in your backyard. They can also sync with their Eco Radiance LED landscaping lights.

With all these products, the money that you save in energy costs make up for the additional upfront costs. Sometimes you save even more. It may be a few years to recoup the initial spend but you will enjoy your pool for many years to come.
