Say Hello To Fiberglass Swimming Pools

2016/7/21 15:25:04

Of all the types of swimming pools that are available, it is the fiberglass pool that is perhaps the least understood. So just what is a fiberglass pool and what makes it so different? Also, how is it made and how is it installed. Of course there must be pros and cons, just like every othert type of pool. So what are they. Is this a pool that you should consider?

The one big selling point of the fiberglass pool is durability and cost. They cost much less than a standard cement built in and are as maintenance free as a vinyl lined pool. At the same time, they are far more durable then a vinyl lined pool and can last pretty much the lifetime of a home.

Still one more positive note on the fiberglass pool is that it installs quickly, just like a standard above ground pool. The backyard is basically prepared. A hole is excavated and then the pool is installed. Now for the big surprise! That's that the fiberglass pool arrives completely built on the back of a truck and is lowered in with a crane.

So now for the cons or the downsides of fiberglass pools. Wouldn't you know it but nothing is perfect. To start with, due to the fact that fiberglass pools have to be driven to your home on the back of a truck, they tend to be relatively small. They are basically a pool that perhaps condo dwellers might consider.

The next downside is that they are nowhere near as inexpensive as prefabricated above ground pools. Sure fiberglass swimming pools are less expensive then your standard cement built in, but everything is cheaper then them now. Also as a home investment, a fiberglass pool, just like a built in, doesn't return well on the sale of a home. Just like a built in pool.

Swimming pools are not all alike; there are lots of options that you can choose from, if you are planning to build one at your home. One type of pool that you can choose is the fiberglass swimming pool. Fiberglass swimming pools comes in different sizes and shapes that you can install in a special hole that's carved into your backyard or lawn. They are installed into the ground together with hard concrete that keeps everything in place.

A fiberglass pool does not need a liner like a regular swimming pool, because it comes with a sprayed special coating on its shell. Fiberglass swimming pools come in assorted colors, shapes and sizes. There are several reasons why someone would want to choose a fiberglass pool; the first one is because of its low maintenance cost. Aside from the fact that you will not need to replace any liner, you will also not need to spend too much on chemicals for cleaning.

Though fiberglass pools may offer low cost maintenance, they do require special attention to make sure that they do not break. A fiberglass swimming pool will need to be constantly filled with water so as not to damage the structure. If there is a need to drain the pool, you should hire a professional to do the job, just to be on the safe side.

You only need to guard the pool from the regular build up of dirt and grime, as these can create bathtub ring effect that can damage the coating. You can buy some tile cleaner from swimming pool supply stores that can take care of the grime in an instant. Avoid using harmful cleansers and tools, as they can cause huge damage on the coating of your fiberglass swimming pool.

Just like any other types of pool choices out there, fiberglass pools have some good and bad points. For some, this kind of swimming pool is an ideal solution, and for some, it is not.
