Mont Tremblant

One of the best places to go for winter vacation destinations, especially if you are looking to get in some skiing, is Mont Tremblant. It is actually recognized as being one of the leading ski resorts not only in Canada but in the world. Extreme and otherwise, there are all kinds of activities that you can take part in, including snowmobiling, dogsledding, cross-country skiing, tubing, skating, and much more.

Aspen

Another of the best and most popular winter vacation destinations is Aspen. If you love the winter and the snow, Aspen is a great place to visit. The scenery and hiking are wonderful, the accommodation and nightlife spectacular, and of course the skiing is some of the best in the world.

If you are particularly interested in skiing then the best time to visit Aspen is going to be from early December to late April and just make sure that you bundle up because the temperatures reach all-time lows around this time as well. There are many other things to do in Aspen as well besides skiing, and for instance you can go mountain hiking as Snowmass Mountain has hiking at the mid-mountain level, which you can get to by the scenic chairlift at the Snowmass Village Mall.

Austria

One of the less expected winter vacation destinations is Austria. In the winter Austria is truly a winter wonderland and winter is the season of conviviality here, with a seemingly endless succession of concerts and other cultural events that are perfect for the whole family. You can take a full-day excursion to Vienna while you are there, or lie back and relax in one of the luxurious chalets.

Just make sure that you choose the destination that is going to be best suited to your liking and to your budget of course. Be moderate in terms of your finances, especially because you do not want to get back home after a wonderful vacation only to realize that you went over your limits and are now in serious financial trouble.
