The Importance of Making a Camping Checklist

2016/7/26 14:53:14

Whenever you are traveling anywhere it is ideal to have a checklist, so that you will know what the necessities are and can make sure that you are not forgetting anything. For camping trips this is especially true, and so now every time you go camping in the future you should make sure that you have a camping checklist ready.

Making the List

Although one person’s camping checklist is most certainly going to vary from another, the basics still tend to remain the same. Of course you will need your tent, but this can be replaced by a trailer or RV if you have one of course. Then the food should be put on the camping checklist, and of course you are going to want to include food that you and the others are going to enjoy.

For bedding you are going to want to have a sleeping bag, sheets and blankets, pillows, an air mattress and pump if necessary, repair kit for the air mattress, and utility bags for storage. If you are planning on eating out during your camping trip then obviously food will not really have to be included, although you may want to bring a few snacks along anyway.

For those who are going to be roughing it and want to cook their own food, you will need a large water jug and water bucket, coolers and ice, a thermos, stove with fuel or propane, matches or a lighter, fire starters such as newspaper, measuring cups, aluminum foil, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, clothes pins, cooking oil, and some containers for food storage which are particularly useful for leftovers.

Also on the camping checklist you will want to include your personal items such as towels, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, razor, feminine products, toilet paper, brush, and medications. Sunscreen, lanterns, batteries, a compass, water filters, binoculars, pocket knife, plastic grocery bags, bungi cords, cards, duct tape, notepads, pens, pencils, candles, maps, even a camera, all of these are great miscellaneous items to add on to your list.

Preparation is truly essential for any outdoor adventure and having the necessary supplies and equipment is going to make a huge difference in your next camping experience. Having a camping checklist will allow you to fully enjoy yourself without having to worry that you forgot something and this is especially important if you are going to have little ones going on the trip with you.
