So, if you are going for the Everest base camp trek from India or anywhere else, there are a few things you will certainly want to carry with you. Putting all the gears together could get a little tricky. It gets all the more difficult if you do not have prior experience. It is best to counsel with the expert who has the experience of such a trek. Here are some of the things that you must carry to the base camp.

 Gear

The good thing is that you will be staying in the tents or the tea houses during your climb to the camp. Therefore, you will not need to carry too much of travel gear. The other good thing is that even if you forget something, you will find lots of shops along the way from where you can buy the gear. However, here are some of the things that you must carry with you.

  • The nights are dark and it could get dark even during the day with dense clouds overhead. Therefore, you must carry at least one headlamp.

  • Make sure that you have a heavy sleeping bag. The days are cold and the nights are even colder. When you have the heavy sleeping bag you will remain protected from cold.

  • You will need the alarm every now and then. But instead of keeping an alarm separately, buy a watch with alarm.

  • A pair of extra sunglasses. This is important. Things could get really difficult without the sunglasses when the glare will light up your eyes. If one pair breaks, you will have another one.

Clothing

For the Mount Everest base camp trek you will need to pay special attention to layering. It gets really very cold and you need to have the proper set of clothing. Here are the things you must have:

  • At least two base layer shirts that are long sleeved and are quick drying

  • Short sleeve trekking shirts (at least two)

  • Make sure you keep at least 2 to 3 thermal underwear for the base layer

  • You are also going to need two pairs of liner socks

  • For the trekking you must have at least 3 pairs of woollen socks designed especially for trekking.

  • Keep two pairs of trekking pants as well which have the bottoms with zip off.
