Before you buy camping tents, make sure you know how to set it up. They should be set up quickly and easily. You should not be fretting over setting it up when it suddenly starts to rain or when it starts growing dark. A-frame and dome-shaped gazebos are ideal for camping. But the same cannot be said about a cabin tent which may or may not be easy to pitch. Also, for ventilation, a good tent should be open from all sides. Most tents also have mesh screens on the sides which allow for ventilation even when you are trying to keep mosquitoes at bay or when it is windy.

Always choose a tent or tent supplies which will last for years to come. Choose a tent based on your need and budget. Next, look for the best features. For instance, decide in advance how big a tent you are looking for. If you are going camping in the car, a big and heavy tent does not matter. But for canoe camping and backpacking trips, a light and small tent is the best option. A 2-person tent is not quite right for two people because there is hardly any space to move. Ideally, a 4-people tent is good for two people and a 6-people tent is perfect for a family of four.

This way, there is room to spread out and store your gear. There are also multi-room tents which allow for a little privacy. The rooms are divided by a zipped door.

Camping tents with aluminum poles are highly recommended as they are sturdier. A tent should have enough ventilation, should be dry, and have enough rain-fly. It should have double stitching and seams. Never eat or store food in the tent because the stench would make the stay unbearable. Also, you will be saved from ants and bugs. Never store the tent in a tight sack. Rather, store it at a dry place where there is plenty of ventilation.
