Climb the volcanoes for the ultimate thrill and trekking in Bali

Bali is an interesting destination, an island with plenty of greenery and with riches of hills. Some may prefer to lie low over the tropical beaches for most part of the day, but for a hitchhiker, it will be worth to tie their sporting laces and explore the trekking corners. Bali has got many volcanoes to boast of, and just to give you some happy hiccups, let us inform you that many of them are active. So, naturally, the ardent trekkers and hikers love to include these volcanoes in their Bali holiday package. The thrill of climbing and exploring these sleeping giants can be indescribably indescribable (say cheese).

The first name that pops out of the brain when one says 'volcanoes' is Mount Batur. With a humble height of 1717 m, its summit can be reached in just one or two hours. If you think that being a small-time Indian guy, volcano-climbing is something too overwhelming for you, we would like to say that Mount Batur offers the easiest climb on the island. Even if you have never climbed a mountain before and even if you have no experience of any adventure sport before, you can very easily get on top of this one (almost as easily as young Indian cricketers are getting on top of our Bollywood babes these days).

But, Mount Batur is very active and you will need to check out with the authorities to figure if the time is relatively safe or a climb. Most people stick to tour operators and professional guides for avoiding hassles and to be safe and secure. Mount Batur stands by the Lake Batur and the view from the top is just mega-foxy-awesome (please excuse the modern lingo).

If Mount Batur is for the beginners and the amateurs, Mount Agung (3031 m) is for those trekkers who have got prior experience and are much more confident. The climb can be steep and challenging. So, don't dare to attempt it unless you are at the peak of your fitness. Climbing it will take up to 3-4 hours and it can take as much time for getting down. The view from the top is something you will leave forget. Mount Agung is the highest mountain peak of Bali and tempts many tourists and adventurers from all over the world. So, it is finding an almost permanent place in all the international holiday packages.

At 3726 m, Mount Rinjani is another trekking option for serious and seasoned trekkers. The trekking journey usually spreads over 2-3 days. So, count your muscles before you hatch this plan.
