How to Make a Mini Survival Kit

This survival kit was designed to fit in your pocket. It contains a minimal amount of things to keep you alive that you can buy cheap.

Steps

  1. 1 Gather all of the items in the "Things you'll need" Section at the bottom of this page.
  2. 2 Use paint thinner to remove the Altoids paint on the outside.
  3. 3 Clean the inside with a lightly scented soap to remove mint smell.
  4. 4 Fold the aluminum foil in a way that lets it fit easily into the bottom of the tin.
  5. 5 Fold the garbage bag the same size as the foil and put some tape around the bag to keep it compact. Put it on top of the foil.
  6. 6 Place the duct tape on top of the (optional) tea bag.
  7. 7 Place the box of matches on top of the duct tape to one side of the tin.
  8. 8Fit the cotton balls inside the hole of the roll of thread
  9. 9 Place the small plastic bag filled with the razor blades, fishing hooks, and weights on top of the roll of thread.
  10. 10 Place the roll of snare wire on top of the "fishing kit."
  11. 11 Fit the compass and vacuum-packed Tylenol pills wherever there is room left.
  12. 12 Close the tin.
  13. 13 Wrap a wide and thin amount of duct tape around your fingers, then place inside the tin. You don't want to prevent yourself from getting access to the items in the tin.
  14. 14 Wrap the parachute cord around the outside of the tin.
