Trials Biking

2016/7/25 11:41:42

Cyclists have found a new sport which consists of them clearing obstacles that others wouldn't have thought possible: trials. This relatively new sport makes heavy use of the bike's brakes as riders try to find their balance on irregular objects while jumping from one obstacle to the next. Mountain bike trials comes from a similar sport, motocross trials. Riders involved in motocross trials decided that it was time to take their sport to urban areas and drop the engine.

Out of all the bike sports in the world, trials is the most technically demanding. The top professionals are very few and far between due to the extreme dedication it takes to master a few basic skills. Professionals can spend years on these basic skills but it pays off when they can refine their techniques and display amazing skills and awe inspiring tricks.

However because the basics are accessible, many new riders are starting trials every day and the majority of those are coming from a range of different cycle sports such as mountain biking, cross country and even road biking. The skills that they learn from trials are beneficial to their own sport, and once they have grasped the basics they can usually outperform their competitors.

Professional riders who take part in trials competitions are known to practice for long hours. The time at competition compared to the time refining their skills is staggering. Riders may spent long hours every week for many years refining their tricks and basic skills until they can apply this to outrageous tricks that impress the judges at competitions.

For riders who are entering into the world of trials riding, practising in the strangest places in not uncommon. Trial riders can be seen practising their hopping and balance in their houses where they can find a spare few metres of space. When taking up riding trials finding other riders to ride with will help take your skills out of the basement and to the streets very quickly.
