How To Install Bombshell BMX Fork

How to install Bombshell BMX fork on a bike is no different from any other set of forks. Installing forks on a BMX bike takes the right tools and skill to get it done. Learning how to install forks on a BMX bike is a great way to upgrade your bike. BMX bikes are a great hobby and sport. Learning to upgrade through self-installation and modification, like installing Bombshell forks, is a great place to begin. BMX forks are the main control mechanism for the front wheel, and they play into the handlebars as well. Forks are normally one of the areas bikers look to to increase the cook factor or mechanics of their bike to meet their style. So, learning how to install forks on a BMX is a stepping stone to increasing your capabilities as a biker.

Things you will need:

  • Bombshell forks
  • BMX bike
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Damp cloth
  • Grease

How to install Bombshell forks on a BMX:

  1. Find a flat surface to perform this maintenance. Lay the BMX bike to one side. Loosen the fork nut just at the head of the forks or the bottom of the head stem. Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the nut.
  2. Now, loosen the nut that holds the front wheel in place. With the wrench, break the hold and then continue to remove the nut with your fingers. Slide the axle out and remove the tire. Set the tire aside as you will need to later.
  3. With your hand, remove the fork nut. The fork will slide out with a little coaxing. Use the damp cloth to clean the inside of the fork stem. Set the stem aside and grab your Bombshell fork. Lightly grease the thread and stem. Fit the head of the fork into the fork stem and hand tighten the fork nut.
  4. Replace the wheel by lining it up and placing the axle through the tire. Using your hand, tighten the nut. Complete this with the adjustable wrench. Next, use the wrench to tighten the fork nut and you have completed this job.
