Why Ride An Electric Bike?

Why Ride An Electric Bike?

Why I am Converting My Bike to Electric

Have you ever thought about buying an electric bike conversion kit for your bicycle? I have found out that it is much cheaper to convert an existing bike to electric than it is to buy an expensive electric bicycle. Once more, you can do it yourself or have it installed on your bike. But first let me tell you why my husband and I decided electric bikes are for us.

We can get exercise and save the environment at the same time. This is a greener way to travel. It is 1/10th as polluting as an automobile.

We can pedal for exercise when we want to and switch to electric when we're tired or don't want to get all sweaty.

I Can switch to electric when I am hauling a heavy book-bag, or pulling a small cart loaded with groceries.

We can take it on vacation and ride up hills and on long rides without worrying about getting tied.

My husband can tote his heavy camera equipment behind him up hill and down.

When we retire, (which is soon I hope), we can take our electric bikes along and explore small towns in America all day long, pedaling for exercise and switching to electric when we are tired and have had enough exercise.

This is a great way to beat the rising price of gas. We can ride to work using electric power and not get sweaty then pedal home for exercise.

It is fun. Riding across town with the wind in your hair and passing all the peddlers will be a lot of fun.

Easy to Convert a Bicycle to Electric

I found, through my research, that it is possible to convert a bicycle to electric in just a couple of hours. Since we both have bicycles already, we plan to buy electric bicycle conversion kits for out bikes. I invite you to follow along with me as I choose the right electric bike motor kit for me. I also plan on riding an electric bike before I buy, just to help me make a final decision. I will report on the experience and keep you posted on my decision making process.

What I Will Consider

There are a number of things I will consider in making my decision.

Cost

Quality

Type of riding I will be doing. Ex: city or country. Weight requirements.

Difference in Types of Motors

DYI or Have it Professionally Done

I know this is going to be a fun experience for me and for my husband. I hope it will be for you too!
