Decoding Western Flyer Bicycle Date Codes: A Guide to Determining Age

Western Flyer bicycles do not have serial numbers that can be used to determine their age. However, the company did use date codes stamped on the bottom bracket of some models. These date codes consist of two letters followed by two numbers. The first letter indicates the month of manufacture, and the second letter indicates the year. The numbers indicate the day of manufacture. For example, a date code of "AB12" would indicate that the bicycle was manufactured on January 12, 1982.
