G Loomis Fishing Rods: Fish With The Best

2016/7/16 16:21:25

I often wondered if it made a difference. Should I pay the money to purchase a G Loomis fishing rod? Does it really make that much of a difference? I mean, they are very expensive!

I have been an outdoor writer and a fishing guide for years. A decade ago I was out fishing with a tournament pro on the Illinois River. He told me as I was getting into his boat to take my rods back to my truck and he was going to show me what a real fishing rod felt like. I would be lying to you if I told you that I wasn't offended by that statement, but at the same time I was a bit curious.

When we got to the first spot of the day he handed me a G Loomis Walleye Series rod. The rod was spooled with fire line and had a 1/4 ounce lead head jig tipped with a minnow. I dropped the jig straight down to the bottom. I could not believe it when I could actually feel the jig bouncing around on sand and over rocks. Then I felt a bite. I swear that I felt the teeth of the walleye raking on the skin of the minnow. I could not believe it when I set the hook and felt it drill into the fish's mouth. It was all I could do was shriek because I was so excited! I was hooked on G Loomis rods after that so I went home and ordered a set of the walleye series rods.

I had been fishing for over 20 year's when this happened and had owned dozens of rods and had never felt a rod that was anywhere near this sensitive. People are always asking me if my G Loomis rods are worth what I paid for them. I always tell me that are worth every penny.

G Loomis manfactures species specific rods, such as the bass, smallmouth bass, muskie, walleye, and salmon and steelhead. Within the species specific there are also technique specific rods such as the bass spinnerbait series, or the crankbait deep flex series.

I now own 4 of the walleye series rods. Like I said earlier, these rods have superior sensitivity I I need when I am jigging in the Illinois River and attempting to feel a subtle walleye bite. The water is sometimes deep and has strong currents. It was almost impossible to feel a bite in  these  conditions with the rods I owned before.

After the 4 walleye series, I decided to investigate somoe trolling rods. I really thought that it would not make a bit of difference when trolling. What I realized what that the G loomis rods are so sensitive that you can watch the rod tips and tell if you are dragging a small weed! I have never seen anything like it!

Every rod that G Loomis sells has a limited warranty that defects in workmanship for the life of the rod. If something happens to your rod and it was the rod's fault, G Loomis will replace it, if it was your fault, G Loomis will repair or replace it for a fee. I have used this service seveal times. One time I was practicing for a tournament and broke a rod. I called G Loomis and they overnighted another rod to me for a fee, but I had a brand new jigging rod in time for the competition. I appreciated the fact that they were willing to work woth me.

G Loomis manufacturers top end rods for top end anglers. They are pricey, but they are worth every penny.
