Common to All Fishing

2016/7/16 16:26:35

When you go fishing from one place to the other in the U. S. you will see many different types of lakes and rivers. Each body of water has its own endearing characteristics but they also have a lot of things in common. One is common sense things to do when you fish and general safety advice. The other is that there are usually regulations that are local to the area where you are fishing.

Remember, you will be out on the water for a while. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and bug repellent, particularly if you are fishing at night. Plus of course, bring enough food and water to keep you for a while, particularly water. You want to keep the water in a cooler rather than let the plastic water bottles sit in the sun. That is not healthy to leave water bottles sitting in the sun. If you are fishing, you must consider safety and weather conditions. Leave the water if there is lightning or a storm in the area. Wear life jackets around water. Be especially sure to insist that people who do not swim wear life jackets.

Not only are there things to do to take care of yourself and those who fish with you, but there may be specific regulations in the area where you are fishing. Catch and release fishing has become popular. These are people who enjoy fishing for the sport only. By catching and releasing fish, it ensures that there will be fish in the future. Releasing smaller fish ensures that some of those fish will grow to become larger fish that spawn and keep the fish populations going. Many water bodies require you to catch and release. There are certain requirements that the smaller fish are released in order to grow. Selective harvesting and catch and release ensures the continued growth of fish populations. Seasonal limits and restrictions are all part of the overall strategy to preserve fish populations. You can ask about those when you get your fishing license.
