Fly fishing today has become more of sports than a hobby. Many fishermen are enjoying the sports of catching award winning fish and sometimes included in world records. But for you to catch an award winning fish there's one thing that really matters, the tying flies. Tying flies is the most important tool that you need to have for you to catch an award winning fish or to win the contest. Tying flies are available in any fishing stores or in the internet. But if you want your tying flies to be unique, you could try to customize your own tying flies. By that, you will need some tools to get it done.

Tools that you will need in tying flies are; vise, the most important tool, scissors, and pliers. Vise will help you hold the hook in place and will make things easier for you. The materials will be fur of an elk or deer, thread, hooks with different shapes and sizes, hackle feathers and the weight is also needed which is usually made of glass, beads and brass. In tying flies, you can start by wrapping the thread around the hook, then you could add the fur onto it, then after that you could add the feathers for more details and so on until you came up with your desired image.

One more thing, you also need to have a copy of images, like in the book or get it in the internet, which you could follow to come up with different images of tying flies. To make things faster and easier, be sure that your tools are complete. In tying flies, do the best you can to come up with a more realistic image so fish could easily be lured and bite the bait.

The fish won't bite if your tying fly is not that attractive or realistic, fish are also smart. For you to come up with realistic image, you need to use the tools and materials effectively. If you are making, better that you make as much as you can so you could have options to choose from and extra if ever it gets broken.
