Mega Baits and Bombers

When it comes to fishing lures most anglers will agree that using a plug called THE BOMBER is the only way to go. It really comes down to where you are fishing, you may want to consider another plug called the Mega Bait plug. This bait has a little secret that makes it unstoppable - it has a tiny rattler in side of it.

If you decide to go with the Bomber or Mega Bait here is a little tip; when fishing during the daylight the pros recommend that you use a yellow lure, and use a black lure when fishing at night. Keep in mind that it is all about the presentation - this particular lure works well when you use it with a teaser.

When fishing a swimming plug you want to fish them at a nice slow speed. This will allow them to have a more fluent and natural swimming motion. It will take a little practice, but once you get it right you will notice your reel will pulsate when bringing the lure back in.

Danny, SRO Prime Minnow, and Rebel Wind Cheater

If you want to cast a little further consider using a heavier plug. You can used the Danny which weighs 2 1/4 OZ, or the SRO Prime Minnow which weighs 1 3/4 OZ, or the Rebel Wind Cheater which weighs 2 OZ. All three of these lures are well crafted striped bass fishing lures.

The Knuckle-Head, Stillwater Smack-it, and the Gibbs Pencil Popper

Knowing when to use the right lure is half the battle. When you hit the lake and you see some top water activity or birds flying around top water feeding off of critters this is a sign that you need to use a Popper. If the birds are feeding from things on the top of the water, the bass are close by. Whenever you are fishing a Popper, reel it in - in short burst. This jerking motion of the lure on the top of the water will appear to the bass as a small injured creature. To a bass this is easy prey and they will come up from below and engulf the popper.
