2016/7/16 16:36:02

Catfish are some of the most aggressive fish on the planet and make for great sport. Anglers of all ages can enjoy a catfish fishing trip. These amazing fish live in many different types of waters and habitats. You can find catfish in virtually any water environment.

This makes catfish fishing that must more popular among fisherman. It's been debated for many years as to the best method to catching catfish. Everything from the rod to the technique you use to hook one of these fish.

Another thing that's discussed is what baits to use. Since catfish live in all types of environments, it makes saying what the best bait to use is quite difficult. Depending on what part of the world you're in will depend on what the answer to that is.

Some people who have been fishing catfish for generations have found many different techniques, baits and rods that work. These methods are considered extreme by some, while others are curious as to how they themselves can use these things to their advantage. Some have gone so far as to throw conventional fishing out of the window and just use their bare hands.

What is Noodling?
If you've got what it takes you too can become one of these extreme fishermen. As man has progressed we've learned better ways of doing things. Fishing is no different when it comes to our drive to improve things. Fishing started with spears and nets and progressed to the point where we started to use rods and hooks.

In some parts of the world you can find that some people have forgone all the developments of man and choose to use themselves as bait. Catfish love holes, logs and dark crevices underwater. Knowing where they are is one thing but getting them to come out is another. As the old saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink".

You can know where the catfish are but you can't always make them bite or can you? Noodling forces the catfish to defend itself from the invader, you. By sticking your hand into their hole you force the catfish latch on out of defense, reflex or confusion. This act of enticing the fish to bite your appendage is known as noodling. Only the bravest of anglers need apply since catfish can seriously injure you in the process.

Injury is just one of the concerns when it comes to noodling for catfish. Sticking your hand in an underwater hole can result in being bit by any number of creatures. Catfish aren't the only things that live in holes underwater.
