Three Tips for Sea Bass Fishing

2016/7/16 16:37:11

When you mention bass fishing, most people will assume that you mean largemouth bass fishing or smallmouth bass fishing. They may even assume that you mean striped bass fishing. However, there is another form of bass fishing out there for those people that enjoy a challenge or live by a coast and just want to experience something different. That is sea bass fishing. Sea bass fishing is excellent mainly because it is immensely enjoyable. It really is not everyone's idea of a perfect day out and some bass fishing enthusiasts do not like it.

However, those that do soon become hooked and it is something that every bass fishing enthusiast should try at least once if only for the experience!

Although you can enjoy sea bass fishing no matter how experienced you are, it is important to find out a little about the hobby before you head out to sea. This is because it is not like any other form of bass fishing that you have ever come across. The nature of the water, the nature of the fish and the unforgiving nature of both makes it incredibly difficult but enjoyable all the same. The following three tips will give you a good insight into how you can enjoy a good catch rate when bass fishing and why you should give it a try in the first place:

First of all, be prepared to put up a fight for your sea bass. What does this mean? Well, you will probably have to fight your catch for some time before being able to pull it out of the sea. You have to bear in mind that sea bass are used to battling the tides and will use them to their best advantage to fight you. As such, it could potentially take hours to pull out just one fish!

That is assuming that you actually have caught one in the first place. Sea bass are notoriously cautious and may not bite for hours despite swarming around your line. As such, you need a lot of patience and the ability to take everything in your stride. This is a steep learning curve and not at all what you will be used to having been out for smallmouth and largemouth bass on various lakes and in rivers. However, it only takes a few sessions to get used to it.

Pay close attention to bait you use and do not be afraid to experiment
