Crappie fishing can be loads of fun as long as you are catching fish! Crappie fishing is the most lucrative in spring and fall seasons because this is when the Crappie fish thrive. One of the best places in the world to catch Crappie fish is Ochoco Lake. The reason for this is that Ochoco Lake has an extremely high population of Crappie fish. There are some special Ochoco Lake Crappie fishing tactics that the best fishermen use to catch tons of fish on Ochoco Lake.

Many people think that they need a boat to go fishing on Ochoco Lake. The fact of the matter is that you do not need a boat to go fishing on Ochoco Lake. If you are an angler you can wade into the waters on the shores of Ochoco Lake to fish. A good tactic would be to research which spots on the lake are best for fishing. A great place to do this is at the bait shop near Ochoco Lake. Local fishermen like to talk about good spots to fish as they are stocking up at the bait shop so feel free to join the conversation! You may want to consider talking to older more experienced fisherman that have experience fishing on Ochoco Lake. These fishermen will be able to tell you which spots have worked best for them in the past. After you decide on a good spot to fish, just pick up your rod and start fishing!

While you are at the bait shop you will need to get the proper supplies for Crappie fishing. Many fishermen are unaware of the fact that Crappie fish love eating live minnows. If you use live minnows as bait you will catch significantly more Crappie fish every time you head out to Lake Ochoco. Crappie fish naturally eat live minnows within Lake Ochoco which is why they make for such good bait. The fish will not know the difference between your minnow and a minnow that they would normally eat. The only difference is that your hook is going to be attached! To store these minnows you will need a small bucket with some water in it. You may want to consider purchasing a few dozen minnows just in case you have a successful fishing day and need some more bait.

Many novice fishermen think that it is best to fish for Crappie during the early morning hours. This is a complete myth and is actually the worst time of day to fish for Crappie. The best time to search for Crappie fish is extremely late at night. The reason for this is that you can use lights to attract Crappie fish to the area that you are fishing in. Crappie lights are small lights that you can place just above the surface of the water to attract small bugs and insects.

Crappie fish love to eat small bugs and insects. Therefore, the Crappie fish will be attracted to the light. After some Crappie fish swim your way, just drop down your bobber and start reeling them in!
