Advantages Of Night Fishing

2016/7/16 16:40:10

There are more anglers who prefer to fish in the light of day than under the cover of night. This is in line with human nature as we tend to need rest when night falls rather than become more active. But many of these fishing enthusiasts might be missing out on the joys of night fishing if they are not already aware of what it can bring in terms of results.

Firstly, since there are generally less people who are willing to fish at night, you will not have other anglers competing with you for a catch. It means you will have a lot of room to maneuver and explore. All this results in is a higher probability of you hauling home more fish.

Anyone who fishes in the day would have experienced the harsh weather conditions that might exist. This includes the risk of sunburn or even dehydration due to the heat. These are not present when doing the same thing at night. You might only have to worry about catching a chill instead.

On calmer nights, the lack of wind or even a cool breeze can contribute a huge difference to your resulting catch. The waters will be calmer and this allows for less agitation of the fish. You will find them more likely to hook on to your lures if you do so correctly.

What happens when fish cannot see and need to feed? They make use of their sense of smell to seek out food instead. Capitalize on this nature by using easily noticeable bait or lures to pull them to you. Without the ability of sight, you can also be sure that a higher percentage of them will bite since they are unable to see the hooks.

If you are aware of a fish's feeding frenzy, then this is another advantage you can have when preying on them under night cover. Since they cannot see well and just depend on smell, once you have gotten them coming together, it is a piece of cake having a complete and healthy haul.

Not everything is rosy when you set off at night as there must be some tradeoffs. However, they are not that big a deal since precautions can be put in place to avoid them. Safety issues are the main concern for those who engage in night fishing because of low visibility. Incidents like falling into the water or being stranded are the likely dangers one must put up with.

You can reduce the likelihood of incidents happening by bringing along the safety equipment required such as extra flashlights. There must also be sufficient checks on your boat engine and accessories prior to the fishing trip. If they are working properly, chances of accidents happening will be reduced. You will then enjoy a great fishing trip at night especially with all the benefits it provides.
