The Best Collapsible Fishing Rod Available

Fishing can be a great experience, especially because you get to enjoy the great outdoors. Getting away from the busy day-to-day life allows many anglers the opportunity to recharge and refresh themselves. Backcountry fishing allows an angler to get away from the crowds at popular fishing hotspots. Often, getting to backcountry fishing locations requires extra effort, but the yields on fishing these locations can be immense.

Hiking to backcountry lakes and rivers is a wonderful way to experience this kind of fishing. Not only will you be able to get away from the crowds at more accessible fishing locations, but you will be able to enjoy the great outdoors while hiking and sightseeing. One of the best ways to carry out this is to hike along a stream or river towards your final destination, whether it be a mountain lake or pond. Hiking along the river or stream will allow you to stop and fish whenever you see a promising fishing hole or opportunity.

Because you'll be carrying everything on your back, you will need to pack light. This includes your fishing gear. Your bulky waders and fishing rigs will have to remain at home. When hiking and fishing in the backcountry, you'll want to have portable, lightweight fishing rigs. This is where a lightweight collapsible fishing rod comes in. A collapsible or telescopic fishing rod is a rod that shrinks down to a very portable length from a length that is almost as long as regular fishing rigs. These rods are very portable and lightweight, and allow you to quickly set them up along the trail as you see your fishing opportunity arise.

In my opinion, the best collapsible fishing rod available is the pen fishing rod. These collapsible rods start out as the size of a fountain pen, but extend to sometimes 6 feet long. They are extremely portable and can even be carried in your pocket while on the trail. Setting them up is easy and fast and they are strong enough to reel in large fish.

Hopefully these tips will help you as you plan your next backcountry fishing trip. Remember that lightweight and portable is the way to go. Also remember that planning your trip is an important part of preparations you make. Plan your route carefully, and remember to leave your itinerary with a friend of family member that isn't going on the trip, just in case you get lost. Good luck!
