Fishing At Night- 5 Tips To Keep You Dry

Some fish are caught better at night so fishing at night is really something everyone should experience. Two fish in particular are striped bass and walleye. So many of us have the excuse of being too busy during the day for fishing so now there are no more reasons to not fish. Maybe fishing at night is your only option but honestly if it was my only option I would take it in a heart beat. Understand there are a few things you should know about fishing at night. Below I will try and list about 5 tips to help you through your night fishing adventure.

1. Dont just limit yourself to a few fish that people say bite better at night. Be ready to go after all the fish that are in the body of water that you are fishing. Even the experts understand that they can have some great fly fishing trips at night. So once again keep your options open and set no limits.

2. Night time is not the time to be exploring new areas. Anywhere you will be fishing should be someplace you have fished in the daylight. Fishing at night can be quite dangerous so there really is no need to add extra danger.

3. Be sure that where you are going allows you access or parking at night. Many places dont allow night access to such things as beaches or docks. It is your responsibility to make sure you talk to the right people to get the right answers. You may find there are special rules when it comes to night fishing. Heck, even in some places there are permits that will allow you access to certain areas.

4. You need to make sure you stay safe and be careful. You need to understand everything that is around you. Things are a lot different at night, you need to pay close attention to slips and falls. It really wouldnt be a good thing to slip and fall in the water. Best case scenario you get wet, worst case you get washed away and drown. You should never fish by yourself. If you cant find someone to go with you then its probably best that you stay home.

5. Be sure you understand all the rules in your areas. There will be certain places that dont allow fishing at night. Then there will be places that dont allow fishing for certain fish at night. Ignorance is never an excuse. It is up to you to know and understand the rules.

Whether you are fishing at night because you want to or just because its the only time you can its still about the love of fishing. There will be no swimmers, no boaters and no one getting in the way. As long as you keep on fishing then fishing at night will be a great experience for you.

Just always remember that a bad day of fishing is still much better then a good day at work.
