Would You Like To Find ‘em Where They Hide?

2016/7/16 16:59:10

“Many men go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not the fish they are after.” -- Henry David Thoreau

Philosophically, this may be true – there is nothing like the peace of a radiant day, the beauty of water and shoreline, and the release of leaving the cares of the world behind, to restore serenity and clear one’s mind.

But nonetheless, finding a fish on the end of your line, be it small, middlin’ or large, cannot be denied as “the frosting on the cake,” so to speak. Who can deny the enjoyment of a successful day of fishing? Or a tasty plate of filets, rolled in cornmeal and browned to crispy delight?

So, how do you make fishing more fun and productive? Of course you need some patience, a rod and reel, a good length of line, hooks and bobbers (if you like them), and oh, yes, bait. You can fish from the bank, or better yet, climb into a boat and go find them.

So how do you find ‘em where they hide? A SONAR (sound navigation and ranging) device called a fish finder detects the bottom of the ocean, lake or pond, and everything else that reflects the sound beam. The transducer produces the sound beam reflection, which is displayed on the graphic display, usually an LCD or CRT screen. Some also have GPS capability, to take you back to where they were previously biting.

* Among the best names in fish finders are Humminbird, Lowrance, Garmin and Furuno. Most of these have a display which is visible in sunlight, and many are full color.

Another great piece of equipment to increase your enjoyment is a fine trolling motor. On bodies of water where a gasoline motor is not permitted, or for slowly fishing around the perimeter of the lake or pond, especially fishing for bass, a trolling motor is the answer.

* Minn-Kota, the best name in trolling motors, offers you many options, such as remote control, and break-away motors to prevent damage to your boat or motor in the event of colliding with rocks or debris. Some are specially made for salt water, or others best for only fresh water fishing.

For an excellent line of fish finders and trolling motors, plus a broad array of other fishing accessories, including lures, lights and so forth, make that next fishing outing more fun than ever, by visiting your online fishing equipment outlets.
